watching my old dance videos. I thought I was so hot. It’s embarrassing, really.
Don’t you worry Athens! I’m bringing them back with me. Get pumped up!
long live King Simba!
Long story short: I came about 2 seconds away from trading in my Tahoe (whom I call Simba) today for a brand new Nissan Versa. With gas prices as high as they are, my grandparents think it might be a good time for a smaller, more eco-friendly car.
And I’ll admit that a smaller vehicle would be nicer on my wallet, but when it came to signing the papers today I just couldn’t do it....
hot yoga
Today I went to hot yoga with Miss Katie Cunnigham. For those of you unfamiliar with this particular physical discipline, it’s, well, yoga in a 108 degree room. Talk about sweaty and kick-ass and awesome!
oh so interesting (good) to be home
In the first 10 seconds of my arrival…
I was shamed for being “too skinny” (fact: “skinny” is never a compliment when it comes from your grandmother)
In the first 30 minutes…
I was force-fed lettuce wraps, half a panini and a slice of carrot cake
My grandmother informed me that through Facebook she discovered that my mother’s childhood friend is now...

bake sale success!
Hello Friends!
Thanks for stopping by my bake sale this past Saturday! It was beyond a success! I’m so grateful to those who went out of their way to donate a plate of baked goods! And most of all, I’m so thankful for my roommates! They did much more than me preparing for this day, and they did it completely out of love. I’m so happy I live in the community that I do. I...
holy week
“And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
It’s finally beginning to hit me. This man who I talk to everyday, who comforts me when my spirit is broken, who reminds me of truth when lies overwhelm me, who sits with me as I cry on my...

why did Jesus turn water into wine?
Someone recently asked me this.
Why not sparkling grape juice? Dr. Pepper? A chocolate milkshake with a cherry on top? Why did He turn water, the purest substance on earth, into something that causes so much misery, hurt, and heartbreak? Something that causes boyfriends to physically abuse their girlfriends? Something that causes mothers to abandon their own children? Something that takes...

whatsweetserendipity asked: not really a question, but i adore your blog :)
it's worth it
Just a word of encouragement…
Though exhausting, heart-breaking, seemingly unfair, persecuting, lonely and frustrating life can be as a follower of Jesus in this broken world, I promise it is all worth it. Because the pros far out-way the cons. With Him there is hope, joy, true (and everlasting) love, excitement and full life!
I know you know this, but sometimes I forget. Hang in there!
